I have recently discovered the fun of writing short-short stories, also called Flash fiction (not to be confused with slash
fiction.) Just this month, I have written two short-short stories. This afternoon, I submitted the first for publication to
an online magazine that specializes in short-short stories. In a nutshell, a short-short story is a story of 1000 words
or less. This, as you can imagine, is quite the challenge, as you have to pare everything down to the bare essence of a story.
You have little room to do other than setup your situation and then deliver. Nothing that doesn't advance the story belongs. I
am looking forward to writing more of these stories.
I am back writing again, after a stretch when , because of various hardware failures, I didn't have a computer. It can
be very stressful when you can't write. It is also difficult to stay focused and happy when you can't make any changes
in your life. For the work I want to do, I must have a computer. Without one, I was stuck in the same place I have been for
too long.

About me: I have been writing since the early 1980s, ever since discovering a passion for writing during my senior year
in High School. My completed writings include novels, short stories, and newspaper articles. I have completed four novels
in that time, and have partially completed two others. I have had little success in finding an agent or a publisher for any
of my novels, and have recently taken my efforts online. During the years that I have been writing, I have also served my
country as a member of the United States Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps. In the last five years, I have been deployed
to Army bases in Iraq, Kansas, and Virginia.
